Dr. Fabio L. Manzini Poli

Dr. Fabio Manzini is a Physical Engineer and Doctor in Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He works as a Head Researcher, specialized in Planning and Energetic Sustainability at the Renewable Energies Institute (Instituto de Energías Renovables, IER, in Spanish) which is part of the UNAM in Temixco, Morelos. His research interests are focused on the evaluation of energetic projects’ sustainability, prospective planning of the energy sector in the country, state, and municipality. Also, focused in energetic public policies to mitigate climate change. He has published more than 70 research works from his area of interest. Since 1998, he has been an advisor at various prestigious national and international institutions as: SENER, National Congress, CFE, SEMARNAT, OLADE, World Bank, WRI and USAID. Recently, he joined the public sector, working for two years as Under Secretary of Planning for Sustainable Development in the State of Morelos. There, he coordinated the Climate Action Plans for all municipalities in Morelos, he also supervised and participated in the works that resulted in the State’s Action Program Law before Climate Change in the State of Morelos. Today, he is the academic responsible of the Sustainability and Public Policies Group of the Solid Biofuels Cluster of the Bioenergy Innovation Mexican Center (CEMIE-BIO) at the IER.
